Are you eligible for Gift Aid?
Gift Aid allows charities to claim an extra 25p from the UK government for every £1 you give.
For example, St Olave’s Trust could get £2.50 extra from your £10 donation, at no cost to you.
In order to be eligible for Gift Aid you need to be able to answer “yes” to the following:
I am a UK tax payer
The donation is my own money, not from anyone else e.g. a business, friends, family or a collection;
The donation is not the proceeds from the sale of goods or provision of service e.g. a cake sale, auction or car wash
I am not receiving a benefit from the donation e.g. entry to an event, raffle or sweepstake.
I understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the current tax year than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations it is my responsibility to pay any difference.
Please notify the Charity/CASC if you:
• want to cancel this declaration
• change your name or home address
• no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains
If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self-Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.
